Why science communication is needed
Shortly after our seventh anniversary, we're dropping the next bombshell:
💣... 3, 2, 1 – BOOM!
One of our first projects, 'Beweisstück Unterhose', won an Ig Nobel Prize on 3 September! What?!
And now you're probably thinking: What exactly is the Ig Nobel Prize? It's a rather different Nobel Prize: It honours research that first makes people laugh, then think. Honestly, you could hardly describe 'Beweisstück Unterhose' and our motto at catta better than this. There's practically no more fitting prize for us.
The entire project team was honoured at the sold-out Kongresshaus Zürich, and Pia's dream came true. "Twenty years ago, when I decided to end my academic career, I had a moment of doubt — after all, that meant I no longer had a chance at the Ig Nobel Prize."
Well, sometimes the path to a science prize does indeed lead through many buried underpants and a catta!
We are overjoyed and would like to thank everyone who dug, researched and cheered with us!
