Claims for damages against catta GmbH arising from material or immaterial damage resulting from access to the app, its use or non-use, technical faults or misuse of the connection are excluded to the extent permitted by law.

Aufgabeln — Privacy Notice 

Short notice for app stores and in-app display 

Aufgabeln is a citizen science app operated by catta GmbH, Goldernstrasse 41, 5000 Aarau, Switzerland (hoi@catta.ch), that lets you measure food waste in your household and contribute to a research project. 

What we process 

• Account data: first name, email address, login credentials, and an automatically generated user ID — to manage your account and communicate with you about the project; 
• Technical data: IP address, access timestamps, and device information — solely to operate the app securely; 
• Research data: your profile answers and food waste measurements — for scientific and statistical analyses, based on your consent. 

Key points 

• Research data is anonymized before analysis: direct identifiers such as your name and email address are removed. catta cannot identify individual participants from the research data it receives — we cannot see who produced which food waste measurements. 
• The app is operated on our behalf by Prototype X UG, Berlin (development, operation, and — through its NOA platform — data infrastructure, using Supabase). All data is stored on servers within the European Union. 
• We do not sell your data and disclose it only as described in our full privacy policy. 
• You can delete your account at any time; your direct identifiers are then deleted. Anonymized research data may be retained for scientific purposes where you have consented. 
• You can withdraw any consent at any time with effect for the future. 
• The app is designed for family use: the account should be created by an adult, and children participate under a parent’s or guardian’s account. We do not create individual profiles of children.

You have the right to access, rectify, and delete your personal data, to object to its processing, to receive your data in a portable format, and to lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC). Contact us at hoi@catta.ch.
