Citizen Science

Citizen science refers to a form of science in which research projects are carried out with the help or entirely by interested laypeople. Citizen science enables an exchange between laypeople and science at eye level. It brings a gain in knowledge for all participants, sensitisation to socially relevant topics, the collection of larger amounts of data, a deeper understanding of science, participation in scientific and political processes and a lot of fun and desire for more.
